In early 2011, Shenzhen Municipal Government borrowed the wind of the Universiade, issued relevant policies to urge furniture enterprises to strengthen the application of UV coatings and waterborne wood paint pace. At the same time, the coating industry is facing heavy pressure on the cost of raw materials, manpower and operating costs. Today, the Shenzhen Universiade has successfully set the curtain. In order to create a good social environment, the paint industry is still trying to step in the direction of environmental protection. However, since water-based paint has entered the Chinese market, difficulties from all aspects of society have blocked the pace of development of waterborne lacquer. The water lacquer technology is not enough and needs the support of the national policy; the performance of water-based paint can not be compared with the oil paint, the coating is difficult, the coating effect is poor; the production line of the water-based paint furniture is too big, the furniture manufacturers can't use it; the hot market is cold in the industry, and the water lacquer is trapped in the difficult to spread and so on. The author thinks that water-based paint, as a "newborn", appears in the deep - rooted Chinese paint market of latex paint, its development is bound to be hindered by many factors and needs to be slowly groped.

The use of waterborne lacquers in developed countries in Europe and America can be traced back to the 1960s, and their market share has been increasing year by year, much higher than that in China. A few days ago, at the 2011 Symposium on environmental wood coatings and coating technology held in Shunde, Dow Dow paint materials department said that in 2014, China's water-based wood paint market will grow at a rate of 30% per year, its main application field is mainly based on furniture coating production line, and the consumer decoration construction and DIY decoration market occupy the market. It will be less than 10%. The reason for this situation is that in the process of decoration and decoration, because of many uncontrollable factors, such as construction environment, construction tools, construction methods and so on, it can not satisfy the stability of the performance of the paint film of waterborne wood paint.

Waterborne wood lacquer has been developed for several years in China. There are still many domestic coatings enterprises in the road of rough and bumpy development, and still remain in the front line of the market. From the feedback point of view, the author believes that the development of water-borne wood lacquer is hindered by the two major problems of painting and cost. According to the current situation, the core raw material of waterborne paint - resin is almost monopolized by foreign paint manufacturers, domestic paint enterprises are hard to share. Foreign paint enterprises monopolize resin technology, also formed a monopoly price, making it difficult to reduce the cost of coating enterprises, even if there is a good environmental protection effect, performance price ratio can not be comparable with latex paint, still won't be loved by domestic consumers. If the domestic raw material enterprises break through the technical difficulties of resin and break the monopoly situation, the cost of domestic coating enterprises will be reduced enough to let the water-based paint compete with the paint.
